Double-Blind Peer Review Process
J-EDUCAT: Journal of Educational Studies is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal that publishes original research in the field of education, including educational leadership, educational technology, higher education studies, and related areas.
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic contribution of the published research.
In the double-blind review system, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed throughout the review process in order to ensure an impartial and objective evaluation.
Initial Editorial Screening
All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial office to determine whether the manuscript fits the aims and scope of the journal.
During this stage, manuscripts are checked for:
relevance to the journal’s scope
originality and academic contribution
language quality and clarity
compliance with journal submission guidelines
similarity and plagiarism using similarity detection software
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without being sent for peer review.
Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that successfully pass the editorial screening are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers who are specialists in the relevant field.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:
originality and contribution to the field
methodological soundness
clarity and organization of the manuscript
relevance to educational research and practice
Based on the reviewers’ reports, the following recommendations may be made:
Accept without revision
Minor revision
Major revision
Reject
After receiving the reviewers’ reports, the editor evaluates the comments and makes the final decision.
Possible editorial decisions include:
Accept
Minor revision
Major revision
Reject
If the reviewers’ opinions differ significantly, the manuscript may be sent to an additional reviewer for further evaluation.
Revision Process
If revisions are requested, authors are expected to submit a revised version of their manuscript together with a detailed response to the reviewers’ comments.
Revised manuscripts may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation before a final decision is made.
Review Duration
The peer review process typically takes 4–6 weeks, depending on reviewer availability.
Confidentiality and Ethical Standards
All manuscripts are treated as confidential documents during the peer review process.
Reviewers are expected to evaluate submissions objectively and must declare any potential conflict of interest. If such a conflict exists, the reviewer should decline the review invitation.
J-EDUCAT follows the ethical standards and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Commitment to Quality
J-EDUCAT is committed to maintaining high academic standards and ensuring a fair, transparent, and rigorous peer review process for all submitted manuscripts.
