Publication Ethics
J-EDUCAT: Journal of Educational Studies is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity.
The journal follows the ethical guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
All authors, reviewers, and editors involved in the publication process are expected to adhere to these ethical principles.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to J-EDUCAT are expected to follow the principles of academic integrity and ethical research conduct.
Authors must ensure that:
the submitted work is original and has not been published elsewhere
the manuscript is not under consideration by another journal
all sources are properly cited
plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification of data are strictly avoided
all listed authors have made a significant contribution to the research
If authors identify a significant error in their published work, they are expected to notify the editorial office immediately.
Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the academic quality of the journal.
Reviewers are expected to:
evaluate manuscripts objectively and confidentially
provide constructive and unbiased feedback
inform the editor if they identify plagiarism or ethical concerns
decline the review if a conflict of interest exists
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for ensuring the integrity of the peer review process and maintaining the academic standards of the journal.
Editors must:
evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit only
ensure a fair and unbiased review process
maintain confidentiality of submissions
take appropriate action in cases of ethical misconduct
Editorial decisions are made independently and without discrimination based on gender, nationality, or institutional affiliation.
Plagiarism and Similarity Check
All manuscripts submitted to J-EDUCAT are screened using plagiarism detection software before being sent for peer review.
The journal considers a similarity rate of up to 20% acceptable as a general guideline. However, the similarity rate alone does not determine the presence of plagiarism.
The editorial board evaluates similarity reports carefully, taking into account the nature of the similarities (such as references, quotations, and methodological descriptions).
Manuscripts containing evidence of plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical citation practices will be rejected.
Conflict of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the evaluation or publication process.
Corrections and Retractions
If serious errors or ethical violations are identified after publication, the journal may issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern in accordance with international publishing standards.
